The
most-planted pecan in North America!
'Pawnee'
is from a cross of 'Mohawk' x 'Starking Hardy Giant', made in
Brownwood, TX. in 1963. Since then, this cultivar has become very
popular throughout the Western and Northern growing regions, and is gaining in popularity in the Southeast as well.
The
Pawnee pecan tree is an excellent choice for people with limited space due to
its relatively small size, only 30 feet tall and wide. The nuts are large and sweet.
This hardy, disease-resistant
variety bears large, full-kernel pecans 2-3 weeks ahead of most others.
Heat-tolerant.
