Great Wall Persimmon

Great Wall was discovered by Plant Geographer J. Russell Smith on the Great Wall in China in the 1930s. We have trees from that original tree that have been growing on our farm since Dr. Dunstan grafted them in the 1960s. It is astringent with medium sized fruit and excellent flavor. It is very cold hardy and growers report to us that they have it growing successfully in Pennsylvania! Ripens in September, Zones 6-9.
