This relative of the Redwoods is the quintessential southern tree lining lakes and rivers thoughout the South. Though a conifer, it is deciduous. It grows well in wet areas but will also do well in upland soils and even as a landscape tree. Bald cypress are fast growing, have attractive foliage and fall color.
