Cercis canadensis
The Redbud is one of the very first trees to flower in the spring. Its clusters of small, lavender-pink flowers are gorgeous. Redbuds are a legume (related to beans) and a small to medium sized tree with dark green heart-shaped leaves and have no disease or pest problems. Fall color is bright yellow.
