'Shoal Creek'
Chaste tree produces a long stem of purple-blue flowers on new growth in the late spring and continues to bloom all summer into the fall. It is a favorite of butterflies! It is a multi-trunk bush and is very hardy and drought-tolerant. A tonic made of the leaves and seeds was used by monks to lower their libido, hence the name "Chaste" tree. It has palmate leaves that resemble the leaf of hemp.
