Anna was originally developed by Dr. Ein Sheimer in Israel.  It is very low chill and requires only 150 chill hours and is best for hot climates along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts as far south as south Florida!  It has a flavor like Granny Smith in early ripeness and becomes like a Red Delicious when fully ripe. It makes fabulous pies! Best when planted with another low chill pollinator such as Dorsett Golden.  It produces prolifically here in on our farm in north Florida, even during very cold winters.  Imagine - fresh apples in your back yard in the south! Zones 8-10.
